A dear friend gave me this kit from Shepherd's Bush a couple of years ago and it's been a WIP ever since...
I worked on it a little bit here,
and a little bit there..
and put it away in the meantime...
it was challenging at times, the part under "Joyful Be" caused me to swear a little, under my breath
but was worth it in the end...
I changed the lettering style, thanks to this wonderful stitcher. I'm not sure that Cynthia knows me or reads my blog, but I'm so grateful to her for posting her lettering changes, as I'm not always a fan of the new SB lettering style. Thank you Cynthia, and also, for the wonderful SB finishes you post.
A friend told me how to do the hair, as the kit did not come with instructions for that part!
Astro was happy the muttering was finally over from my side of the couch, hee!
Sorry boy, Mama appreciates your concern :)

WOW!! I love your piece. I also love how great the close up photos came out. The braid looks great, I didn't even attempt a braid on mine. And you are right about the white satin stitching, I worked on mine for about 3 days straight. I sent mine off to the framers yesterday, you'll be able to see the framed version on my blog in about a week. I love your letter changes, I did not put the saying on mine. I really do love yours!
Gorgeous work, Andrea!
It's beautiful - congratulations on a lovely finish!
Gorgeous! :-)
XOXO
Beautiful finish!!
This is a beautiful finish Andrea! Every stitch is just perfect, and every specialty stitch really makes it special. Congratulations! (Glad to see you posting!)
Beautiful finish Andrea! I have this one in my stash to stitch one day! Cindy's lettering is the best - I have used it several times myself. I don't know what I would've done without her changes!! Probably would have stitched a lot less SB designs. :)
Very nice!
Come Tarry is absolutely gorgeous! I'm not a fan of SB's lettering style either. Thanx for the link. I'll have to look into it when I get home.
Wow! It's so beautiful!
Hey Kiddo, it looks like "a little bit here", a "little bit there" and some swearing made for a super finish. I'm sure Astro's encouragement was very helpful too.
It's gorgeous! Congrats on the finish.
The braid is fantastic Andrea! If I send you mine you wanna stitch it for me? ;o)
very pretty!! You did a great job!!! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to finish something that has been sitting around for so long?!?!?!
That is beautiful!
WOW! It is fantastic : ) Beautifully stitched
Gorgeous finish! I love the braid. There is a braid on my SB stocking, and I just think it is so fun! Congrats on this beauty!
