stitching too!

So now the cake is gone (anyone make it or have plans to?), I have some stitching to share....

From the Blackbird Designs Joyeux Noel book

the Joyeux Noel reproduction sampler (my first finish dated 2010!)

stitched on 30 ct. Lucky Penny linen with the called for Gentle Arts, Weeks Dye Works and Crescent Colours overdyed threads. I did sub DMC for the CC Petite Maison, as the skein I had just blended right into the fabric and couldn't be seen.

What a joy this one was....well, except for that four-sided stitch, could've lived without that as it took me FORever to do! But, it's a neat look for a change and it's over and done with, so I'll quit whining about it ;-)

Oh, and I did finally finish stitching that last stocking from the BBD 'Tis Halloween book, called Enchantment...

on this one I used DMC 3371 for the CC Blackbird and DMC 3856 for the CC Copper Penny. Come to think of it, I never used Blackbird for any of the other stockings either, but the DMC instead. It made me happy to use what I had on hand :-)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope y'all have a great week!

What a gorgeous finish! Well, they both are ;), but particularly the BBD! I'm stitching on Tis the Season from the same book and really enjoying it.

lovely finishes for 2010..After seeing your cake I had to make one..Only I made mine from scratch..I haven't had a cake mix in the house for so long..I didn't have the sliced pineapple so I used crushed and it turned out yummy just the same..

OMG OMG OMG, you stitched the Joyeux Noel piece, I LOVE it! Ooh, and the stocking too. I wasn't that crazy about the Halloween stockings, but then I saw them all stitched up and finished at a craft fair and I fell in love. Can't wait to see what else you will finish in 2010 ;o)

A very JOYEUX congratulations on your finish =)
I think this is the first one I've seen on the blogs finished....and it doesn't disappoint. You did a fantastically beautiful job of it!
Your stocking is gorgeous too...I've got myself a big resolution, to do all of the stockings in each month, hope I can stick to it ;)

"Oh no she didn't!" was my first thought when I saw your beautiful sampler pop up on the screen. YGG! It looks fantastic. I just ordered the Petite Maison (think that's the name of it) and now am thinking maybe I could've just used the DMC. Your rendition of it is stunning. I love the stocking, too!

Love the sampler. I'm glad I bought the book in December and will eventually come around to stitching this piece, too. Congrats on the finishes!

You made my day! I absolutely positively LOVE LOVE LOVE this sampler and can't wait to stitch it but my big stitching slump got in the way. It's gorgeous and since it's fairly new, you just whipped it out overnight too. Your stockings have all been so beautiful too, but I just love that sampler, gf!

Breath taking sampler!!! It is just gorgeous.

Doesn't 2010 feel strange?

I am so happy to have found your site. I am new to Texas. It is a world away from Ohio. But, I love it here.

Joyeux Noel piece is bee-autiful! It's amazing the affect when you actually see someone stitch up something. It's another on my 'to stitch list'!

Happy Dance for you Andrea!

PS - I see that little French General needlebook in one of your photos. Where did you get it from, if you don't mind me asking?

Gorgeous! I love the colors on the BBD piece, you could even leave it hanging year around if you wanted to :-). Aren't the stockings fun, I am planning on stitching a bunch this year for my wooden tree.

Whoa Andrea, what a way to start the year! Both pieces are lovely, but I especially love Joyeaux Noel. In fact, I have it all kitted, and you have inspired me to move it up to start soon.
