a post about nothing...

...in particular that is :-)

Thank you all for the bloggy name love and get well wishes on my last post. Not only am I gonna keep the blog name, but I spent the better part of last night trying to spruce it up a little bit around here. Just some little changes, but I hope you like!

Shoulder pain. Oy! I've had a bum shoulder since I was about 14 years old (30 years ago!!). It acts up every now and then. Usually what causes it is my job, which involves counting things (money or paper) the whole time I'm there....it's a part time job, but we pack 8 hours of work into 4 or 5, so it's intense and fast paced. The other thing that doesn't help is that I stitch in hand, and holding the fabric sometimes just aggravates the whole issue. Luckily for me, it comes and goes, it's just that I have to give up stitching completely until it passes.

My friend Patti stitched all of the CHS Virtue series recently and then passed her charts on to me. My plan is to stitch them all together, vertically, and maybe make the finished piece into a bell pull....maybe. Here's the first one, she's not done yet (no stitching for 3 days), but I wanted to share anyway :-)

this is so tiny...less than 2 inches wide by 2 1/2 inches tall. I'm using DMC on 40 ct. Goldfinch...

Oh gosh, on the bloggy love subject, I can't forget that I got some awards recently!

Melissa gave me this one...

and Lynda gave me this....

Thank you both so much!! I am the world's worst about playing along with these, so hope you all can forgive me for being late in saying thanks and for not playin' by the rules. There are just SO many blogs that I love and read and that deserve these awards, if they haven't already gotten them, how can I pick just a few?? But I do appreciate the thought behind receiving them!

Totally random picture....

this past weekend we had GORGEOUS weather, oh my gosh, it couldn't have been more perfect!! Hubby grilled outside, he even grills up extra chicken, etc. so during the week we have it for whatever...nachos, chimi's, salads. And the above was my contribution to the Monday night nachos, lol! We LOVE fresh guacamole with plenty of cilantro, fresh tomatoes, etc. YUM!

It's been gloomy and raining for two days now...you just never know about the weather here in Texas!

One more thing before I quit (if you've stuck with me this far, bless your heart)

Sweet Sue had an idea to start this blog, and I think it's just the sweetest idea! There's no commitments or deadlines...just whenever you feel like spreading some kindness, you can! We need more people to join!! Come on over and play!

Hi Andrea! I'm glad I found your blog last week. I finally managed to spend some time visiting your previous pages. We have a lot in common, both in stitching and cookbooks! I will try that Amish recipe for piecrust because I'm lazy! I have an Apple Shortbread Pie recipe that's yummy with a no- roll crust too!

Your stitching is wonderful and I lust after some old ones! Anyway, more to the point your CHS piece is going to look gorgeous!

Hope that your shoulder feels better soon. I have something similar (calcified tendenitis and a bone spur) and every once in a while my arm is useless. Love your Virtue and can't want to see the others.

Oh man, it is possible for you to puhleeze stitch something that I am not jonesing to stitch?!?? ;) Needless to say, I looooove your new CHS start. I want to stitch all of them, have Deb make them into pinkeeps, and then display them ever so casually in a basket.

I hope your shoulder is better soon!

I love the spruce up. You rock, gf. I need to do the same on my blog but I'm still at the 'if I do anything different I might delete the whole thing' stage. I am ROFLOL at that quote from Roseanne Barr!

What a great friend to pass on those charts. I think I really might like to sign up for the RAOK blog! I'll check it out more in depth today!

I love CHS Virtue! I am real sorry to hear about your shoulder. Have you ever tested yourself for Rheumatoid Arthritis? Sunny weather!!! Send some my way please. Yes, I need BBQ's and salads and sunshine. Good thing you kept your blog name as we all adore it. Why eat a cupcake if you cannot have it deep fried! : )
Hugs

Hi Andrea. I am so sorry about your shoulder. I have had the same issue for about 25 years and it is not a whole lotta fun.
Thanks so much for stopping my my blog and leaving such a nice comment. The skinny on the KFL is 40-count Vintage Lt. Examplar (Lakeside)and NPI silk.
Your stitching is simply incredible. I think I may have to put you on my "route."

I love your blog just the way it is, and your changes all look very cheerful. Not so happy to hear about your shoulder, though. I am basically an in hand stitcher too, but my left hand gave me trouble, so I've converted to scroll framism. Now I can stitch with both hands without having spasms or anything. Maybe you could give it a try?

My hubby is the Guacamole maker in our home and I could truly make myself sick eating it, yours looks like it was yummy stuff!!! Congrats on the awards as you totally deserve them!! I plan on joining the new blog that Sue started, sounds awesome!!

I love your blog name, it's so distinctive so I am glad you decided not to change it. I do love the new template. Congrats on the award.

Hope your shoulder feels much better soon.

I love your new start on the Virtues, and I also love the idea of a bellpull.
Sorry to hear that your shoulder gives you such pain so that you even can't stitch. I hope it will be better soon.
It's nice to see that you kept your blog name.
