Remember Me

Hello sweet friends! How are you? Ready for Spring? The weather here in Texas has been beautiful! Even though fall is my very favorite time of year, Spring runs a close second :)

Despite being hit with a second round of the "creepy crud" as we call it, my stitching fingers are still working. Hot off the needle is my latest finish...

From Blackbird Designs Reward of Merit Sampler, Remember Me
Stitched on 35 ct. Parchment linen, by WDW
Over two with one strand Gentle Art threads in Aged Pewter and Cidermill Brown

In that second picture you can see an old pocket watch that my husband has had for years. He found it a long time ago, can't recall the exact details, but it's very old and very neat. It's not in the best of shape, but we treasure it and wonder about who it may have belonged to.

I'd like to offer someone the chart for the above finish. I accidentally marked it with my highlighter (thought it was my working copy), but it's just a small part and won't affect the stitching of the design :)

If you're interested in having it, just let me know in the comment section on this post. And please tell me about something old that you treasure.
I'll draw a name this weekend.

And in Pug news, Astro wants to know if you think he's handsome....

He's thinking about Daisy and how she's always on the lookout for a sexy pug, and wonders if he qualifies :)

Your finish is beautiful! It's so nice to see this all stitched up -- it's such a pretty piece. I already have the chart so don't enter me in your giveaway. :D Tell Astro I definitely think he's handsome - a real cutie!

Your stitching is lovely ~ the colors are so soft!!! And the pocket watch looks like one my grandfather had.

I have a few things that I treasure, but one that comes to mind is a tea cup and saucer that belonged to my great grandmother. It is a James Kent Chintz Pattern, Apple Blossom. It just screams out "Spring"!!! I bring it out during this time of year to display.

And yes, Astro is just one hunky dude ~ very handsome!

Your stitching is lovely! Are old husbands considered treasures to anyone other than myself?! I am so sentimental there are too many items in my home that I treasure...some from when I was 16.

Astro, handsome...very.

Feel better soon....Joy

Lovely finish...I like the soft colors! Hope you're feeling better. Being sick is no fun. And Astro, I think he's just Daisy's type!

No giveaway entry for me...thanks though!

So sorry you've had to go through another round of the crud. Hope Spring means no more feeling puny.

Love the finish! The thread and fabric are great colors.

The something old that I treasure is The OG. LOL

Of course, you're handsome Astro.

And Astro...yes he is handsome and I am sure very much loved!!:)

I adore that finish, that is sure sweet of you to offer it as a giveaway...I already have it, thank you. But for sure now I know I need to stitch it very soon, after your sweet finish!

You're back! Yea! Congrats on the finish, it's just beautiful! I'm certainly a sentimental type. I have a locket that belonged to my Great Grandmother. In it are two pictures, one of her and my grandmother when she was a little girl in 1938, and the other of her with my Great Grandfather in 1942 in his uniform ready for war.
Astro is a very handsome guy! My dachshund girls just love his little nose:)

Your finish looks fabulous. I don't have the chart and would love to have my name included in your giveaway.
I have my father's pocket watch, which I cherish.

Tell Astro he is one sexy pug! Not to mention drop dead gorgeous, too. I love your finish, this piece is in my stash, I love the lettering and subtle flavors of thread. Fantastic finish Andrea, I will pass on your giveaway as I already own it. Smiles....

Hope you are feeling better after the 'creepy crud'. lol

Your stitching is always beautiful Andrea, and 'Remember me' is no exception.

I'd love to be in the drawing for the chart. I have a long list of old things I treasure. I am very sentimental and have kept lots of things that have come down through the family. I'll spare you the long list, but defnitely the old family photos are the things I treasure most.

Astro is most certainly a very handsome pug!

What a lovely finish! Love the muted colours. Yes please, I'd love to be entered in the draw. Something old that I treasure? My maternal grandmother, who I have no memory of as she died when I was 2, was a stitcher. I have some of her old wooden hoops and a collection of Anchor threads which she used. I've no idea how old the threads are, must be at least 70+ years and the colours are still as vibrant.

Cute pic of Astro!

Beautiful finish! I'd love the chart--very sentimental and sweet. I have several goodies that I treasure--my mum knows I love antiques so for my birthday each year she digs something out of the attic that belonged to a grandparent or great- of mine..

Love your finish! I already have it in my stash, which seems to be the trend from the comments that I have read, so no giveaway for me.

I have my great-grandmothers old rocking chair. Never knew her but cherish the chair and cringe whenever someone actually sits in it. I am never sure it won't fall apart on them!

Hi Andrea! I started Remember Me the other day, lovin it. Yours is very pretty!!

Beautiful finish! Congrats. I have Little Women and the Laura Ingalls Wilder collection of books that I have have since 1977 and 1976 respectively. They have moved homes with me many a time and my mother gave me the Little House books as Christmas gift.

Sweet pugs and gorgeous finish!!! I already have the chart so don't include me in the giveaway :-).

We've got quite the 'creepy crud' here, too. Ugh.

That's a gorgeous finish, and I would jump up and down and squeal if I won it. :D Something old that I treasure is a thimble that my step mother gave me that belonged to her mother. I thought it was really sweet and personal of her to give me something like that.

Your pug would fall more under "still waters run deep" than "sexy", but IMHO that's always been the more interesting category anyway. Tell Daisy I said so.

Awww, what a cute pic of Astro! Duffy says he doesn't swing that way, but he still thinks he looks rather dapper. ;)

Great finish! I love the pocket watch. I'd love to be entered into the drawing, too! Let's see, something old that I treasure. Well, the first thing that springs to mind is my grandmother's wedding ring, which my aunt has just said she'll allow me to have. It's nothing fancy, just a plain gold band, but my grandmother treasured it and so I treasure it. I'm sure it won't fit on my hoof but I'm going to save it for one of my girls. I'm fortunate to have my other grandmother's wedding ring, too, so both girls will be able to inherit a treasure of heart, even if it isn't of significant monetary value.

I hope you're feeling better!

Hope you're feeling better! Love your finish - it's so delicate and pretty. And the pocketwatch is such a treasure. My husband has his Grandfather's pocketwatch too I believe.

Hello...welcome back to blog world! I love that pattern...and would love a chance to have it. Something old....well, I have something that is from 1954...a button/pin. I was one of the Pioneer children for the Polio vaccine. They selected children around the country to test it on. I alwasy feel that in a small way I helped the cause. Zoe says she thinks Astro is handsome...one pug to another!

I LOVE the colors you chose for this. Beautiful! I would be honored to have it. I have a lot of old things I treasure. My birthday was earlier this month and my Aunt gave me a couple of her Grandma's old mixing bowls that she brough over from Sweden. I was really honored she gave them to me. I know how much she loved her Grandmother.

And that is one handsome pug...as a Auntie to 4 pugs they have a soft spot in my heart. We have a little girl name Daisy too =)

I would love a chance to have that pattern...thanks! One of the things I treasure most is an old poetry book that belonged to my grandmother. We used to always sit together and she would read me those poems...I am remembering "The Highwayman" right now. It was one of her favorites....

Silly Astro....of course, of course you are handsome! My special old thing is my great grandparents wedding picture. My GG came over from Denmark first for a year and then sent for my GG and they got married. She saved her egg money up to buy the frame for their wedding picture. It hangs in my bedroom and I love it! A beautiful stitchery and I would love to be in your drawing. Nancy in WI

Well, Astro is playing the cool and handsome dude look isn't he? 'my mom won't stop taking pictures of me!'

Your "remember me" is just lovely. I couldn't really see the design on the chart when I look online but your stitched piece really shows up well. I would love a chance to win it!

Something old that I treasure (you don't mean my husband, right? lol) - I have an old men's watch that I just love. Even though there are so many watches these days and much cheaper, I maintain my old treasure and wear it just about every day!

Hey Andrea!!! I love the fact that you are passing on the chart! Thanks for the chance...I would actually stitch the chart twice and pass on one of the finishes to a deserving stitching...And, I would then pass on the chart also!

Something old that I treasure is an old photo of my recently deceased MIL...It is a photo of her when she was a child...very rare photos as it was taken in the 20's....It is worn and a little creased, but it meant alot to her, and now so much to me....

Take good care, Faye

I love the pocket watch. Such a neat find, and looks great to take photos with!
Hope you are well. I've missed you. I need to post soon too. So much to do!

Gorgeous - beautiful colors and stitching - how will you finish it? I would love to stitch that, please entr me in your generous giveaway.

I, like most, have several old treasure - my Mom's Fostoria goblets - thin as a spring time skim of ice on a puddle, some Beleek chine pieces that were my Mom's - but, I'd say the most treasured is the one I wear everyday! I wear my maternal Grandmother's wedding band - she was married in 1888 - 123 years old!

I have two Grand-pugs - Astor is quite handsome, but I DO like that photo with him "upside down" on your sidebar - so typical of pugs!

Astro is a gorgeous pup. I've always wanted a Pug, but haven't had that honor (yet). He looks like a snugglebunny! :)

Your finish is beautiful. I'd love to be entered for your giveaway.

I treasure a music box that belonged to my great-grandmother. It's a wooden music box with copper and silver figurines. It doesn't play anymore, but it has developed a lovely patina over the years. I'd love it even if it wasn't a family heirloom.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm sending a cyper tummy-rub to Astro. ;)

Andrea! I would love to have my name entered in your drawing! Your stitching is mahvelous, can't wait to see it finished!
I have lots of old treasures, but I guess first that comes to mind is my diamond cocktail ring, which was my grandmother's. It was given to her on her 18th birthday, she gave it to me when I was a teenager a-because we both had April birthdays, and diamond is April's birthstone, and b-because I was her favorite, lol!
And, of course Astro is handsome, and I know he knows it, lol!
